For many, meditation is part of religion or yoga and unapproachable but meditation is the simple act of calming the mind. Calming the mind is rarely a simple matter and something very few of us manage.
Meditation takes many forms, and can be, still, dynamic, silent, focused or noisy. I have experienced meditation through many different paths, yoga, chanting, sound work, shamanic practices and thai massage and bring together all this experience to offer an accessible meditation class that will help you to relax and find a quieter way to be.
The classes will involve some simple meditation techniques with a focus on breath meditations. We will also work a little with sound as part of meditation and spend some time on relaxation. The class will last about 1 hour and after the class there will be time to share tea and chat. The classes are generally aimed at beginners but anybody is welcome to join.
The classes run on a 4 week rolling basis to allow progression in the teaching and to create a group atmosphere that will support your journey into meditation. The first week is open and then if you wish to continue I will ask you to commit to the following three weeks.
The classes are held in my house, a peaceful space overlooking the Thames. We will be working on the floor sitting and lying so wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a blanket and cushion if possible. I have spare blankets and cushions and space to change if you are need it. The schedule and costs are below. Should you have any questions then please don’t hesitate to contact me.
