Yoga is an ancient practice that originated in India over 5,000 years ago and includes many paths, karma yoga, bhakti yoga, raja yoga; which includes hatha yoga and jarana yoga. The word 'yoga' means unity or oneness and comes from the Sanskrit word 'yoke', which means 'to join' and refers to the joining of individual consciousness with the universal consciousness. On a more practical level yoga is a way to join the mind body and spirit which helps the individual achieve balance and harmony.
The path we are most familar with in the west is hatha yoga, which orginaly was seen as a process of purifing the body for higher meditation. It includes many practices but the those focused on will be asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathing). Yoga has mental and physiological benefits including:

I will work with you to build a personal practice that will help support you in your chosen lifestyle. One to one sessions are ideal if you wanted classes to fit around your timetable. you would like to work on a particular aspect of your practice or if you feel uncomfortable about being in class.
